Notable Features Built-In Calibration Sensor The CG247 comes with a built-in calibration sensor so you can schedule the monitor to self-calibrate at your convenience. A built-in sensor is housed within the monitor's top bezel and swings down over the center top of the screen when calibration begins. This built-in sensor eliminates the need for a third-party calibration device and even operates in portrait mode. Self-Calibrating Monitor Using either the OSD menu or the bundled ColorNavigator software, you can schedule the ColorEdge CG247 to self-calibrate at a specific time and at specific intervals. OS-Independent Calibration Since the PC itself is not necessary for self-calibration, the ability to calibrate the monitor is not dependent on using an operating system supported by the ColorNavigator software. Therefore, a calibrated ColorEdge CG247W can be used with Linux even though ColorNavigator currently does not support this OS. Correlation with Other Sensors The ColorEdge CG247 can be correlated to the measurement results of an external calibration sensor. This is convenient if the ColorEdge CG247W is used in a work environment with other ColorEdge monitors and one measurement device must be used as a standard for all calibrating. Correlation is done with a new 'Correlation Utility' included with the bundled ColorNavigator software. The CG247 has a DisplayPort connection and accepts 10-bit PC video signals that allows it to display 1.07 billion colors from a pallet of 278 trillion. It's wide color gamut panel reproduces 99% of the Adobe RGB color space and reproduces 100% of the color spaces used in broadcasting such as Rec. 709, EBU, SMPTE-C, DCI and HDTV. The HDMI input offers direct connection with digital cameras. Since Film is usually shot at 24 frames/second and looks unnatural when played back on a typical monitor that displays 60 frames/second, the HDMI input supports a video signal display rate of 1080/24p frames-per-second so you can edit the film as it was meant to be viewed. Finally, the HDMI input supports I/P (interlace/progressive) conversion for converting the interlace signals from TV and video into progressive signals for flicker-free display. 3D LUT for Better Additive Color Mixture The CG247 utilizes a new EIZO-developed 3D LUT. Whereas a typical 1D LUT adjusts color on separate tables for each red, green, and blue, a 3D LUT accomplishes this on a single, mixed-color cubic table. A 3D LUT improves the monitor's additive color mixture (combination of RGB), a key factor in its ability to display neutral gray tones. Automatic Color Drift Correction An EIZO-patented drift correction sensor quickly stabilizes the brightness level after startup or coming out of power saving mode. Furthermore, the monitor detects and compensates for brightness changes caused by surrounding temperatures and the passage of time. Protanopia and Deuteranopia Simulation in Real Time: Simulates two types of red-green color vision deficiency - protanopia and deuteranopia. The ColorEdge CG247 does all the color conversion processing in real time - even moving images. With the bundled UniColor Pro software (Windows Vista/XP/2000 or newer and Mac OS X 10.3.9 or newer) - also developed by EIZO - the designer can instantly switch from a normal viewing mode to the Protanopia and Deuteranopia viewing modes. Until now, tools available for simulating color vision deficiency have been software based so the color conversion process can be time consuming depending on the size and quantity of images to be converted, making these tools of limited practical use. And much more.... Specifications:
New FULL 5-Year Warranty The CG247 monitor is backed by a manufacturers 5-year warranty that covers all components including the LCD panel. EIZO can do this because it manufacturers its products at its own factories. This allows EIZO to keep close control over production quality and ensure that its monitors are built to last for 5 years, in every sense. Note1: With current LCD technology, a panel may contain a limited number of missing or flickering pixels. Note2: The RGB full pixel failure is zero for up to 12 months after date of purchase based on ISO 9248-307 (pixel failure class I).
